Business Continuity
Motif's Business Continuity
Plan is built on its commitment to ensure
uninterrupted service to its clients. Motif's
Business Continuity Plan covers the following
contingencies:
• Power Contingency
Motif's centers are divided into nine sections and each section has its own independent power supply from multiple feeders (separate transformers, UPSs, meters and cabling) from the local electricity company, to ensure availability of power at all time. Additionally, Motif has installed nine independent UPS systems, with over one hour back up time, for every workstation and server at its facilities. The power to the critical loads (like server / network racks) has been provisioned via power redundant switches. In an unlikely situation of an extended power failure, of more than one hour, Motif has a dedicated diesel generator installed as a back up to generate captive power.
Motif is located in one of the few cities, in the country, which have privately owned utilities in the country. Power outages are rare and power failures for more than an hour have not occurred in the last 5+ years of Motif's operations.
• Network Contingency
Motif has used Lucent CAT 6 cabling to network the centers. Motif has an uptime of 99.9% for the internal network and additional on-site redundant equipment such as spare routers, switches, firewalls, workstations, etc. for continuity of operations. Motif has a back up IT infrastructure in place, complete with equipment, internet connections, power supply and work space. Following are the core elements of this redundant facility - Redundant Core L3 switches running HSRP, redundant network equipments including routers, L2 switches etc., redundant servers for network, contracts with vendors, etc.
Motif has established Critical Mission contracts with its vendors such that in an emergency situation, they can provide us software / hardware support and devices including network equipments and PBXs. SLAs for such missions depend on the significance of the equipment required and the intensity of the situation.
• Connectivity/Telecommunications Contingency
Motif has Internet feeds of Tier 0 bandwidth from multiple service providers over different carriers to provide its clients with connectivity redundancy.
• Country Redundancy
Motif has two centers in India and one in Manila, Philippines for geographical redundancy. |
